viens glander!
Oaks are among the most abundantly planted trees in cities around Europe, yet their fruits, the acorns, are largely ignored.
Though once a staple food, acorns have been pushed out of our culinary culture and end-up every fall being swept away as urban waste.
Through the format of a pop-up café, serving acorn coffee, viens glander! redistributes this overlooked gift of the trees. Stations for drying, roasting, shelling, grinding and brewing, invite visitors to join the process.
‘Viens glander!’ /vjɛ̃ ɡlɑ̃de/ (from a french idiom which means to idle away) invites you to slow down, connect with the local landscape and have a warm cup of acorn.
